A house fire in Fort Lauderdale has left four people homeless, while a family pet, a Python snake, was successfully rescued. The blaze broke out around 5:10 a.m. on Tuesday at a home located at 15th Avenue and 11th Street in the northwest part of the city, as reported by Telemundo 51.
Firefighters swiftly responded to the emergency call, discovering smoke billowing from the rear of the property. After approximately 15 minutes of dedicated effort, they managed to bring the flames under control, according to the Fort Lauderdale Fire Department in Broward County.
Although there were no casualties, the four residents of the house were displaced and received assistance from the Red Cross. During the rescue operation, firefighters succeeded in saving a python, which was the family’s pet, from inside the home. The snake was unharmed and is now safe.
The fire seems to have originated in a bedroom, though authorities are still probing the exact cause of the blaze. This incident marks the third fire reported in South Florida on Tuesday. Another fire in Brownsville resulted in two hospitalizations, while a separate blaze in Davie led to one fatality, according to fire officials.
