The comedic antics of Luis Silva, known as Pánfilo, never fail to bring laughter, and his latest holiday escapade is no exception. This time, the beloved character decided to set up a Christmas tree using candles, accompanied by some amusingly peculiar wishes.
While chatting on the phone with his cousin Mery, Pánfilo described his festive creation. "I have to send you some pictures, it's beautiful! I even added a little bottle of Alprazolam," he quipped. "Mery, Mery Crisma, look at all these bulbs. You know, you're so stubborn. I told you, don't send me any garlands because I don't want you spending money, girl," he continued, though there was another reason behind his decision to forgo traditional lights.
"I didn't want to plug them in, cousin. I was afraid they'd trigger the Guiteras or the one at Mariel, any of them. You know those power plants are really touchy. Any little thing and they make a fuss and just quit," Pánfilo joked, referencing the country's ongoing energy crisis.
He added with a chuckle, "Wait till you see it. I even found one of your old notebooks from the store. It has the M-15 coupon, remember in '83 when you couldn't decide between the bloomers or the stockings and ended up buying a pair of stockings? You went the whole year without bloomers."
Undoubtedly, those who experienced the 1980s in Cuba will fondly recall the era Pánfilo humorously brings to life.
