A 21-year-old Cuban man, Camilo Puig González, originally from Las Tunas, tragically lost his life in a car accident early Friday morning in Geneva County, Alabama. The county coroner, Donnie Adkinson, reported that the crash took place on County Road 45 in the Bellwood community. Puig González's vehicle veered off the road and struck a tree, resulting in his immediate death at the scene.
The incident is currently under investigation by the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA), as reported by WDHN. Authorities are still in the process of gathering information regarding the circumstances surrounding the accident.
Community Mourns the Loss
The untimely death of Camilo Puig González has deeply affected his family and friends, who have expressed their grief and condolences on social media. This tragedy follows a similar recent event involving another Cuban national in the United States.
Just days ago, another Cuban, José Ernesto, from Minas de Matahambre in Pinar del Río, was killed in a traffic accident. He was hit by a car that ran a red light as he was leaving work on his motorcycle.
Recent Tragic Incidents
Earlier in November, the Cuban community also mourned the loss of young Rubén Ángel Ramírez Pérez, who died in a car accident in the early hours in Miami Gardens. His family has initiated a fundraising campaign to bring his remains back to Cuba, where his mother and loved ones are waiting to give him a final farewell.
