Andy Vázquez Seeks a "Scientific Explanation" for His Daughter's Tears

Saturday, November 30, 2024 by Aaron Delgado

Andy Vázquez has been trying to understand a peculiar behavior of his daughter, Annabella, without much success. Whenever he holds his baby girl in his arms, he cannot sit down because she immediately starts crying and pouting.

The comedian took to his Instagram to express his bewilderment, writing, “If someone knows the scientific explanation, please tell me.” To illustrate his point, Andy shared a video showing what happens when he sits on a bench with Annabella in his arms.

“She doesn’t want me to sit down; she doesn’t change her position,” the entertainer explains, demonstrating how he sits without moving the little one, yet she immediately senses the change.

“I can’t stand all day, but she can’t keep crying,” Andy concedes, ultimately surrendering to his daughter’s pouts.

Followers of Andy’s post offered responses, with some sharing possible explanations for this “phenomenon” from their own experiences: “Only women will understand”; “If you sit, she knows there’s no walk, but if you’re standing, she knows there’s a walk ahead”; “It’s a mystery, we’ve all been through it”; “Andy, it’s incredible, science hasn’t answered this”; “Every parent wants that explanation”; “Andy, she wants to stroll, not sit. She’s beautiful, God bless her”; “It’s her way of making a joke”; “She just wants to go out”; “She wants to gossip and look around, not sit bored. Time to walk.”

The Cuban comedian is thoroughly enjoying these early months with his baby, and just like he does with his eldest, Isabella, he proudly showcases his daughters on Instagram, embodying the role of a proud father.

Understanding Baby Behavior

Why do some babies cry when you sit down?

Many babies enjoy the movement and comfort of being held upright, and when you sit, they may feel the difference and become unsettled.

Is there a scientific reason for this behavior?

While there is no definitive scientific explanation, some suggest that babies sense a lack of movement and associate it with reduced attention or activity.
