Residents of Havana have expressed their outrage over the persistent power outages plaguing the Cuban capital, even after the reconnection of the National Electric System (SEN). The extended power disruptions, coupled with a lack of effective communication from authorities, have sparked harsh criticism toward the government and the Electric Company.

On social media, the public's frustration is palpable, with many viewing the power cuts as a blatant disrespect and a sign of the state's inefficiency. "Yesterday, we were without electricity for 19 hours, and they have the nerve to cut it again today. The best part is that every day they have less time left. Resign already! The country outgrew you years ago," an irate user commented.

Another resident from Río Verde shared a similar ordeal, stating, "My neighborhood was in the dark from 2:00 am until 10:00 pm last night. That's 20 hours without power, and now they're saying it will go out again at 10:00 am. This is disrespectful. We, the citizens, bear the brunt of the inefficiency of a State Company and the government. It's beyond immoral."

While power outages have sparked significant backlash in Havana, comments also emphasize that the situation is even more dire in the provinces. Residents of other regions report suffering from more extended and frequent blackouts, perceiving an inequity in the distribution of electricity service. "The national balance is clear. The 4 hours cut from Havana allows the hero city a brief respite, while the rest of the day is spent in darkness," a commentator quipped.

Others questioned the lack of lasting solutions and the government's apparent inability to ensure a basic service. "How shameless can they be? Almost 24 hours without power yesterday, and today they're already announcing another cut at 10. They should be ashamed of the miserable life they offer us. This is spiraling out of control."

The Cuban government has indicated that the SEN is facing a "high generation deficit," leading to both planned and unplanned power outages. However, citizens find the official explanations lacking and are demanding immediate measures to improve their quality of life. In the meantime, power outages have become a constant, exacerbating public discontent in a Cuba mired in a severe economic and social crisis.
