Officers from the National Police made their way to the town of Matayegua in Santiago de Cuba to return a stolen mattress to a family from whom it had been taken. According to the Facebook page "Héroes de azul," which is affiliated with the Ministry of the Interior (MININT), the return ceremony was conducted in the presence of local residents, providing an opportunity for authorities to emphasize the significance of reporting any criminal activity.

The owner of the mattress expressed gratitude for the swift recovery of the stolen item. The community welcomed the gesture with applause, highlighting the authorities' efforts in combating crime in the area.

Robberies are becoming increasingly common on the island. Recently, a Cuban individual was apprehended in the municipality of Colón, Matanzas, following an alleged burglary involving a firearm. The suspect, identified as Ediel Jesús Prado Morales, committed the theft in the early hours of December 2nd, breaking into a residence while disguised with a mask resembling one from the film "Scary Movie" to conceal his identity.
