A cyclist sustained injuries on Friday afternoon after being struck by a motorcyclist in the heart of Santiago de Cuba. The incident took place on the bustling Martí Avenue, right in front of the well-known illuminated fountain.
As expected, the cyclist bore the brunt of the impact, left lying on the street after the collision. Several bystanders rushed to assist him, and upon realizing he was still alive, they placed him in a car that transported him to a hospital.
Independent journalist Yosmany Mayeta Labrada shared images of the involved vehicles, providing a glimpse into the scene. "According to what the motorcyclist reportedly said, 'the gentleman cut in front of me,'" Mayeta noted.
In the comments section of the post, a witness claimed that the cyclist had gotten so close to the motorcyclist that they brushed against each other, causing both to fall to the ground. Another user remarked that although authorities claimed to have repaired that stretch of the avenue, "what they did was a mess; you have to be a magician to navigate through there."
