Cuban boxer Yordenis Ugás recently gave his followers a glimpse of his Las Vegas home, which his mother has yet to visit since her arrival in the United States. "Counting down the days until my mom sees our home in Las Vegas," Ugás shared. Through an Instagram video, he showcased the front of the beautiful two-story house he hopes to soon share with his beloved mother, Milagros, who has only stayed in his Miami apartment thus far.
Ugás has been experiencing immense joy since early November, when he finally fulfilled his long-held dream of bringing his mother out of Cuba. Over the span of 14 years since he left the island, he went nearly nine years without seeing Milagros, a punishment imposed by the Castro regime for pursuing his aspirations abroad. Their reunions were limited to Panama and Mexico, as he remains unable to return to Cuba.
Feeling deeply grateful and fortunate, Ugás offers encouragement to newcomers in the country: "If you're new here or have been here for just a few years and things aren't going well, don't lose hope. Be patient and smart. I'm telling you this as someone who thought I'd become a champion in 2-3 years, but it took me 10," he advised.
During this month that Milagros has been in the U.S., Ugás has been indulging her with special experiences, such as taking her to a concert by Mexican singer Ana Gabriel. "Mom would tell me, 'Pinch me, I must be dreaming.' If you're fortunate enough to have your mom alive and nearby, take her out for a memorable experience," he suggested on social media.
Recently, Ugás shared a heartwarming video of them dancing and singing in his apartment, highlighting the deep bond and understanding between them. "We’re no longer asking God for whims, or to be the best in the world, or to win, win, win. Now, all I ask is for God to bless my dear Milagros with good health and long life, so we can make up for lost time. May God always bless her," Ugás expressed in a heartfelt post.
In another post, Ugás was seen driving with his mother in the passenger seat, reflecting, "Everything I am, and hope to be, I owe to my mother… Thanks to her prayers, love, and support since my childhood," he shared in a message filled with love and admiration.
