Amidst his ongoing divorce proceedings, Daddy Yankee has filed a lawsuit against his estranged wife, Mireddys González, accusing her of unauthorized transfers amounting to $100 million. The revelation came through a statement from the Puerto Rican reggaeton star's legal representative, Attorney Carlos E. Díaz Olivo.
"As legal counsel for Mr. Raymond Ayala, I confirm that today my client has submitted injunction requests to the Court of First Instance. This action is in response to the conduct by Mrs. Mireddys González and her sister, Mrs. Ayeicha González. It was also revealed yesterday that transfers totaling $100 million were made from the corporate accounts of El Cartel Records and Los Cangris to personal accounts without my client's knowledge or authorization," reads the attorney's statement.
The lawyer emphasized that for approximately a year and a half, Daddy Yankee has been requesting access to his companies and financial status from both women, which they have refused. "The limited information provided has hindered Mr. Ayala's ability to have insight and transparency over corporate operations, finances, and commitments made in his name and with his brands. Given their past actions and the imprudent administrative and financial management of the entities, specifically the unauthorized withdrawal of large sums, which affect the stability of the entities and Mr. Ayala's rights, legal action has been necessary for protection," the statement asserts.
The lawsuit comes just days after the Puerto Rican artist confirmed his decision to end his 29-year marriage, in which they share two children. One of the most challenging aspects of the separation involves determining how to divide the reggaeton star's fortune, estimated at $300 million.
