The Cuban comedian and influencer Joan Rodríguez, who is known online as Hurón Verifica, orchestrated a prank in Havana that quickly escalated, prompting police intervention to restore order. This incident took place at the park near Havana's train station, where Rodríguez was engaged in conversation until a man with a disheveled appearance approached, pretending to inject something into his neck.
As Rodríguez protested, the "attacker" continued on a threatening path toward others, sparking panic among bystanders who fled in fear. The situation took another turn when a cohort of the prank tackled the "attacker" to the ground. However, the pranksters did not anticipate the swift arrival of two police officers on the scene.
Initially, the officers seemed unaware that this was a hidden camera prank and appeared somewhat annoyed. Eventually, they took the joke in stride and even seemed amused by the situation. Yet, just as the officers arrived, a woman brandishing a stick approached and unexpectedly struck the "attacker" on the head, who was already subdued.
Rodríguez confronted the woman, expressing his frustration. The prank video has been shared on Instagram, garnering over 12,600 likes within two days.
Comments on the video varied, with one user noting, "That's how they sleep at the station." Another quipped, "The only useful moment for the police all day, and it turns out it was a prank." Another added, "At least the police found something more entertaining than checking IDs, haha."
One young viewer laughed about the woman's intervention, saying, "The aunt gave him a whack." Some, however, were critical, with one commenter stating, "This is too much... it's absurd, I didn't find it funny at all." Another echoed this sentiment, "I didn't see the humor in what they did. People have different reactions to these kinds of pranks, and someone could really get hurt. I love your videos, but you shouldn't play like this."
Rodríguez summed it up, saying, "For those who couldn't see the video on YouTube, here's the madness."
