In a heartfelt endeavor, the community-driven initiative known as "Huellas" is on a mission to bring joy and hope to the most vulnerable families in Guantánamo. Aiming to offer a unique end-of-year experience to those who have lost everything, including loved ones, the team departed from the Luyanó Workshops with donations filled with communal solidarity and hard work. This effort was highlighted in a Facebook post by the project's leader, Johanna Jolá Álvarez.

According to Jolá Álvarez, this mission would not have been achievable without the steadfast support of transport workers, volunteers, and collaborators such as Minister Eduardo Rodríguez Dávila, Liliana from "Desafío", and drivers Bobi and Ernesto, among others. These contributors came together to ensure that every donation reached the hands of families in Guantánamo.

"Huellas" also extends its gratitude to Correos de Cuba, whose employees enthusiastically joined the cause, as well as to generous individuals both on the island and abroad—from Mexico to Germany—who sent donations, trusting in the noble purpose of the project.

The team emphasizes the critical role of the transportation sector in delivering hope and joy to the most remote areas of the country, underscoring the necessity of supporting its development as a cornerstone of Cuba's social and economic welfare.

In October, the initiative successfully sent a total of 300 boxes filled with donations to those affected by Hurricane Oscar in Guantánamo. Through this effort, "Huellas," which recently celebrated Christmas at the San José children's home in Centro Habana, reaffirms that these are indeed "times of love," spreading a message of unity and hope during the holiday season.
