A Cuban mother residing in Mexico is pleading for assistance in retrieving her children, who were taken by their father following a vacation in the tourist area of Chetumal, Quintana Roo, on July 20. "My children are missing, I have no idea where they are, and I haven't been able to contact them. I am heartbroken and urge anyone who can help spread this message to do so. The relevant authorities have been notified, but any information would be greatly appreciated," shared the mother, known on Facebook as Fer Mill, who holds both Cuban and Mexican citizenship.

The Mexican Prosecutor's Office has issued Amber alerts to locate the children, ages 10 and 12, who have been missing since July. The situation unfolded in Chetumal, Quintana Roo, where the children had gone on vacation with their paternal family. "He has hidden from us, blocked our phones, and prevents us from seeing them. Despite having several court orders to return them, he refuses. It’s something I never imagined we would experience, and a sad revelation that the father of my dear nephews and his family are capable and complicit in this situation," she lamented.

Marta María Ramírez, an activist from the Alas Tensas Gender Observatory (OGAT), stated that this case involves "not only vicarious violence but also violence against children." She also demanded that the Morelos Prosecutor's Office enforce the issued Amber Alerts and urged the Cuban authorities, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Cuba and the Cuban Embassy in Mexico, to assist the woman in safely recovering both children.
