A wave of solidarity has swept through the Cuban community as individuals unite on social media to support five-month-old Keilis Wilson, whose mother tragically passed away during childbirth. Currently, Keilis is receiving care at the Pediatric Hospital in Camagüey due to a severe case of diarrhea.

Keilis was admitted with a diagnosis of acute diarrhea (EDA) and is being treated in the Gastroenterology ward, specifically in bed 11. This situation has sparked a community-wide response, facilitated through local groups like Revolico Camagüey, which boasts over 300,000 members.

The infant's paternal grandmother, Fermina Arostica, has expressed her profound gratitude to everyone who has contributed to the cause. Through these platforms, numerous donations have been gathered, including medications, wet wipes, stuffed animals, blankets, sheets, juices, shoes, clothes, and heartfelt letters to the grandmother, who has taken on the responsibility of caring for the child amidst the challenging circumstances on the island.

"A heartfelt thank you to all the Camagüey mothers and fathers who have contributed in any way to ease our burden," Fermina shared, visibly moved by the community's outpouring of support. Keilis, who remains under ongoing treatment, is expected to stay in the hospital until at least January 10, according to one of the nurses at the facility.

Individuals such as Marian Calzada, Tamila, Lisandra, Dercy, Yessica, Mara, Walquiria Sifones, and Guelmi Abdul have been instrumental in organizing the aid, as detailed in the online post. The pediatric hospital has set up communication lines for those interested in continuing to contribute to the cause.
