In a recent development, two men have been apprehended by Cuban authorities, accused of burglarizing a residence in the village of Australia, located within Jagüey Grande, Matanzas. The suspects, Raúl Yasniel Guerra Rivero and Adonis Alejandro León Faget, are now in custody following their alleged involvement in stealing from a home identified as Elizabet. This information was reported by "Con Todos La Victoria," a Facebook profile linked to the Ministry of the Interior (MININT).

The authorities claim that Guerra and León illicitly removed several items from the property, including a television, a washing machine, an induction stove with its pan, and exercise weights, among other possessions. These stolen goods were discovered in the homes of the accused and are expected to be returned to their rightful owner, according to the report.

Both suspects reside in the village of Australia and are reportedly "unemployed," as stated in the report. Notably, Guerra has a prior conviction for theft, highlighting a pattern of criminal behavior.

In a related incident last December, social media profiles sympathetic to the Cuban regime announced the arrest of three individuals accused of stealing goods meant for distribution via the ration book in the Pedro Betancourt municipality, also in Matanzas.

In the first week of December 2024, the government led by Miguel Díaz-Canel launched a large-scale police operation across the nation, aimed at preventing and addressing criminal acts, illegal activities, and social indiscipline. During this crackdown, more than 3,300 arrests were made, and an unspecified number of show trials were conducted, including proceedings for corruption involving government officials and authorities, as part of the regime's efforts to curb crime.
