Cubana Shares Her Experience at Lenier Mesa's Miami Restaurant: "It Has to Be Really Good for Me to Return"

Missfernandez7 recently shared her visit to “La Romanita,” the first restaurant opened by singer and songwriter Lenier Mesa in Miami, on TikTok. She started her review by noting the restaurant's decor, "The place is decked out in black with gold accents, and there are photos of him everywhere—even in the bathroom. The menu offers a bit of everything: seafood, meats, you name it. It's quite impressive in that regard, but there are no pictures of any dishes."

In her video, she commented, "It's not a place I would say was amazing and worth returning to. The service was excellent, with an 18% tip included," highlighting both the positives and negatives of her experience.

She described her meal, mentioning a cheese soup and stuffed tostones: "I'd rate that a 7 out of 10. The drinks, however, were fantastic—10 out of 10. They were $15 each and quite strong, so I highly recommend them." Yet not everything met her expectations. Referring to the tamal en cazuela, she remarked, "It had a nice flavor, especially the ropa vieja, which I thought was chilindrón. Honestly, I'm not sure. My husband rated it a 6 out of 10; he ordered it with moro and fried yuca."

The dessert was the highlight for her. "The guava torreja was delicious, spectacular. The bill came to $165, and we also ordered a cortadito. I don't know if you think that's expensive, but I found it a bit pricey. I think $140 or $130 would have been more reasonable, but it's about the experience. I won't be going back."

The video quickly garnered thousands of reactions. Some users defended the pricing and drinks, saying, "With drinks, $165 is not expensive at all"; "I think the price is fine, everything looks amazing"; "Food isn't cheap anywhere, if the place is nice and the drinks are good, that's what it costs." However, others agreed with the creator: "If the food isn't good, the price doesn't matter, it's not worth it"; "I went and didn't like it either"; "Try other restaurants, there are plenty of options."

“La Romanita” opened its doors in late December with a launch event attended by Lenier's friends, including Eduardo Antonio, Srta Dayana, Alex Duvall, and Leoni Torres. The singer described this venture as “a new experience and something beautiful, because everything related to entertainment is part of my career.”

The video by @missfernandez7 has sparked a debate, with differing opinions on whether the restaurant is worth the price or if it's an experience not worth repeating.
