On Wednesday, authorities apprehended two men in the Cerro district of Havana after they stole a motorcycle parked in front of a home. The incident, which occurred in the morning, was detailed by the pro-government platform "El Cubano Fiel" on Facebook. The successful operation was attributed to the GPS tracking system installed on the vehicle.

The report indicates that the thieves broke the motorcycle's locks while the owner was busy with household chores inside. Upon discovering the theft, the victim sought assistance and came across plainclothes officers patrolling on motorcycles. After explaining the situation, the officers and the victim used the motorcycle's GPS system to track down the stolen vehicle.

After navigating through several streets in Cerro, the authorities located the motorcycle and the perpetrators at the intersection of Flores and Santa Rosa streets. The thieves were apprehended on the spot, and the stolen vehicle was recovered. Shortly thereafter, a police patrol arrived to transport the suspects to the police station commonly referred to as "the fourth."

The surge in criminal activity is one of the indicators of Cuba's deepening economic crisis, a reality even acknowledged by the Cuban regime. Recently, a man was arrested by police in the Talla Piedra area of Havana after stealing a mobile phone from a 15-year-old boy. The theft happened as the victim was walking through the streets of Arroyo, Cristina, and Rastro, and the thief made a swift getaway with the device.

Earlier this month, an online user sought help in identifying a thief who took advantage of a street brawl in Havana to steal a mobile phone from a house, captured by a security camera. Tania Vargas, the complainant, expressed her outrage in the Facebook group "Confituras en La Habana" and requested user collaboration in identifying the culprit.

In December, a Cuban man was involved in a brazen theft at a store in the El Louvre hotel, located in the heart of Matanzas city. The individual, identified as José Rafael Rodríguez Durán, was arrested, and the stolen clothing items were retrieved, as reported by the pro-government source "Con todos la Victoria" on Facebook.
