Chocolate MC Arrested for Domestic Violence in Miami

The Cuban reggaeton artist Yosvani Sierra Hernández, widely recognized as "Chocolate MC," was taken into custody on Thursday morning following a domestic violence incident at a residential building in downtown Miami, Florida. According to Telemundo 51 Miami, the altercation took place in apartment 2207 of the building located at 1500 NE Miami Place around 6:40 a.m. The police report indicates that the victim, whose identity remains undisclosed, stated she was alone at home when Hernández entered the apartment accompanied by another woman.

The nature of the relationship between the victim and the accused had been described as polyamorous for the past year and a half, but mounting tensions led to a physical confrontation.

Details of the Altercation

The police report reveals that what started as a verbal argument swiftly escalated into physical aggression. According to the victim, the singer raised his voice in an intimidating manner while she was seated on the couch. When she attempted to stand, the self-proclaimed “Rey de los reparteros” grabbed her arms tightly, leaving visible marks. The confrontation resulted in the woman sustaining bruises on her arms, forearms, and forehead.

Following the incident, the victim experienced dizziness and sought assistance in the building's lobby, where rescue personnel aided her. Although paramedics offered to transport her to a hospital, she declined medical attention.

Chocolate MC's Arrest

Officers arrived at the scene and, after several unsuccessful attempts to contact Hernández in the apartment, enlisted the help of the building's manager and maintenance team to gain access. Upon entry, they found the artist asleep in a bedroom. After multiple attempts to communicate, he awoke, complied with the orders, and was arrested.

The musician was taken to the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center (TGKCC) at 12:30 p.m. the same day, facing a domestic assault charge. His bail was set at $1,000, but it had not been posted at the time of his detention.

Reactions and Past Incidents

This arrest adds to the controversial history of "Chocolate MC," who has previously encountered legal issues. The case is pending his court appearance to address the charges against him.

In August, the reggaeton artist was arrested shortly after 7 p.m. on a Wednesday for driving with a suspended license and facing an out-of-county warrant, according to his police record. Additionally, he had legal troubles in April and May of 2024.
