According to witnesses, the victim, an elderly man, was riding a motorbike when he was struck by a white car attempting an imprudent overtaking maneuver, as reported in the Facebook group "Revolico Remedios."

The collision proved fatal, and the man, who hailed from Camajuaní, died instantly, as mentioned by the independent media outlet La Tijera. "Drivers are out of control; it's total madness," expressed a witness on social media. "They took away the life of such a good person, with a wonderful family. What a tragedy," added another. The National Traffic Safety Commission's data from last year indicated there were 7,507 traffic accidents, marking a 12% decrease from the 8,556 reported in 2023. Additionally, fatalities fell by 13% (634), and injuries were down by 4%, totaling 6,613, compared to the previous year's incidents.
