A Cuban woman has been taken into custody in Italy for allegedly participating in the theft of luxury perfumes from a store in Ancona, as reported by local media. The incident took place in October 2024, and it was reported by the store manager who estimated the stolen merchandise to be worth about €2,000.

The suspects, three women aged between 31 and 36, were caught on security cameras executing their theft plan. They entered the store separately to avoid drawing attention and swiftly concealed the items in their bags, paying only for low-cost goods. The surveillance footage was crucial for the police in identifying the culprits.

The Cuban woman was found at her residence in Italy, whereas the other two women, identified as Chileans, were discovered to be homeless. In recent years, there has been a noticeable increase in the involvement of Cuban nationals in various crimes in Italy.

Among the recent incidents was a violent robbery in Tivoli, where three Cubans were detained in September 2024 for stealing a woman's purse using distraction tactics and physical aggression. Additionally, three Cubans were apprehended for thefts in supermarket parking lots, primarily targeting the elderly by using distraction techniques such as dropping coins on the ground.

Another significant case occurred in June 2024, when Edgar Molina, a 22-year-old Cuban, was arrested in Rome after it was discovered he had a clandestine lab in his basement, where he manufactured homemade weapons and ammunition.

More recently, Carlos Omar Morales, a 27-year-old Cuban, was sentenced to 12 years in prison for the death of Teodoro Ullasci in L'Aquila, following an altercation that resulted in unintentional homicide.
