A so-called "ninja," a term used in Cuba to describe thieves who hop onto moving vehicles loaded with goods to steal, was apprehended in Santiago de Cuba while trying to rob a truck transporting rice. This incident unfolded around 8:00 a.m. on Friday on the bustling Paseo de Martí street in the city center.
According to communicator Yosmany Mayeta on Facebook, the individual was caught red-handed as he attempted to snatch some bags from the moving truck, seemingly unaware that it was under police surveillance. "These individuals sometimes cover their faces to avoid identification, yet often they do not," Mayeta remarked.
Photographs from the scene reveal a significant police presence in the area, with one officer detaining the thief by the arm. The suspect appeared to be acting alone during the failed heist.
