Tense White House Meeting Leaves Trump and Zelenskyy Without an Agreement

A meeting held this Friday at the White House between Presidents Donald Trump and Volodymyr Zelenskyy ended without reaching an agreement to pave the way for ending the Ukrainian war. The encounter was marked by a heated exchange that included insults, shouting, and threats. Following the tense discussion, Trump released a statement asserting that Zelenskyy "is not ready for peace if the United States is involved."

"A lot was learned that could never be understood without a conversation under such intense pressure. It's astonishing what emerges through emotion, and I have concluded that President Zelenskyy is not prepared for peace if the United States is involved, as he feels our involvement gives him a significant advantage in negotiations," Trump wrote on his social media platform, Truth Social. "I don't want advantages; I want PEACE. He disrespected the United States of America in its cherished Oval Office. He can return when he's ready for peace," he emphasized.

Shortly over an hour later, the Ukrainian leader shared a message of gratitude on his X account, reaffirming his stance to achieve "a just and lasting peace" for his nation. "Thank you, United States, thank you for your support, thank you for this visit. Thank you, President of the United States, to Congress and the American people. Ukraine needs a just and lasting peace, and we are working precisely to achieve that," he stated.

Meanwhile, Secretary of Defense Marco Rubio voiced his support for Trump in a post on X. "Thank you, President of the United States, for defending America in a way no president has dared before. Thank you for putting America first. America stands with you!" Rubio expressed.
