On Sunday, a heartfelt funeral procession took place as fans sang some of Paulito FG's most beloved songs, culminating in the arrival of the late singer's remains at the Colón Cemetery in the Vedado neighborhood of Havana. According to the official page of Cuba's Institute of Information and Social Communication (ICS), Paulito FG's body will rest alongside the remains of Adalberto Álvarez and José Luis Cortés (El Tosco). "The renowned singer Paulito FG now lies in the Culture Pantheon of the Colón Cemetery," the outlet reported.

Havana residents gathered around the hearse, reciting poems and singing in tribute to the Cuban salsa legend. "No one wants to stop singing his songs. One leaves, but one never really goes. One always stays," wrote social media user Roilán Rodríguez Barbán.

Family, friends, music industry peers, and hundreds of fans accompanied the artist, whose contribution to Cuban music has left a lasting impact on multiple generations. Social media profiles showcased scenes of tears and applause as his coffin was accompanied by a crowd singing some of his most iconic hits, notably “La especulación de La Habana,” one of his most cherished songs.

Earlier, Cubans paid their final respects at the Calzada y K funeral home, where the late musician Paulo Fernández Gallo was honored. Dozens attended to pay tribute to the salsa star who tragically died in a car accident on Saturday.

The coffin bearing Paulito's remains was surrounded by friends and family and adorned with floral tributes from Raúl Castro and the Communist Party of Cuba. Born on January 11, 1962, Paulo FG became one of the most influential figures in Cuba’s popular dance music scene. His career included stints with groups like Adalberto Álvarez y su Son, Opus 13, and Dan Den, before he founded his own band, La Élite, in 1992.
