Attempted Knife Attack at Cienfuegos High School After Student Assaulted

A man wielding a knife attempted to storm "Hermanos Mederos" Urban Basic Secondary School (ESBU) in Cienfuegos after allegedly assaulting a student. This incident was reported on Wednesday by the Facebook page "Las Cosas de Fernanda," which aligns with the State Security. It occurred near the school premises when the individual, identified as Josué Alejo, was engaged in a heated argument with a woman.

Ninth-grade students who were attending a physical education class witnessed the altercation. Upon noticing the presence of the students, the man approached the school fence, hurled insults, and in a sudden outburst of aggression, struck one student through the fence, causing minor facial injuries.

The affected student immediately reported the incident to the school administration, prompting teachers to intervene. They observed as the aggressor attempted to enter the school grounds with a knife. The school's director and several teachers blocked his path, preventing his entry while contacting the authorities.

Police arrived shortly thereafter and apprehended the man, who now faces charges of threats, assault, disorderly conduct, crimes against a minor's normal development, and carrying a knife in public.
