There are over 190 countries, and not everything revolves around Cuba or the U.S. It’s not the center of the universe. When one door closes, many others open, so it's not the end of the world. You’re not being removed from the planet Earth; you're just not in one of the many countries that exist," she asserted.
From Cleaning Houses to Creating Content
During her Q&A, Flor de Cuba recounted her arrival in the United States and her initial jobs. Upon arriving in Kentucky, she assisted her aunt with her cleaning business but soon realized that creating social media content was more financially rewarding.
"In my first days here, I was cleaning houses, helping my aunt who owns a cleaning company. I accompanied her a few times. However, I did the math and found that posting a video on TikTok earns me about as much as a full day of house cleaning, and I would end up extremely tired with back pain," she shared.
Currently focused on content creation on TikTok, she expressed her future plans, stating that once she obtains her work permit, she will seek formal employment. "When I get my work permit, I'll look for a job. I want to venture into business and study, but I will work like everyone else. I'm not someone who can go unnoticed, so I can't risk any business hiring me without papers," she explained.
