Cuban meteorologist José Rubiera took to social media to announce that a new cold front is set to arrive in Cuba on Monday. Satellite forecasts indicate that this weather system will bring rain and showers to various parts of the island, along with a drop in temperatures.
In the early hours of Monday, the cold front is expected to cause showers, rain, and thunderstorms in the southeastern United States, impacting areas such as northern and central Florida. As it progresses, it will move towards southern Florida and subsequently reach Cuba.
"As it passes through Cuba, the front will cause showers and rain, crossing the western and central parts of the country on Monday. It will also reach the central Bahamas while lagging slightly near the coast of Honduras in Central America," Rubiera explained in his latest report on his YouTube channel.
Following the cold front, a mass of cold, dry continental air will move into the region, leading to a drop in temperatures. Nevertheless, this cooling effect is not expected to last long.
"Temperatures will decrease between Monday and Tuesday in the southeastern United States, northern, central, and southern Florida, the Bahamas, and western and central Cuba," the expert elaborated.
By Tuesday, the system will continue its path eastward, gradually losing strength as it weakens.
Additionally, meteorologist Raydel Ruisánchez also shared information on Facebook about the impending weather event.
