Sunday, March 23, 2025 by Edward Lopez

An unusual race between a vintage Cuban car and a motorcycle has stirred excitement on social media. The video, uploaded to TikTok by user @el_misil13, captures the event at a controlled circuit in East Havana.

The showdown featured a four-door Chevrolet from 1955, affectionately dubbed "the Cerro Missile," going head-to-head with a Kawasaki 636 cc. Despite the apparent advantage of the powerful Japanese bike, the outcome was unexpected: the classic car impressed with its strength and speed.

Comments quickly flooded the post. Some criticized the motorcycle rider for a poor start, with one user stating, "The bike guy doesn’t know how to ride." On the other hand, several Cubans praised the performance of the vintage vehicle: "It's worth noting that the car runs incredibly well."

Humor was also a big part of the conversation, with quips like, "From 0 to 100 in 3 days," making the rounds. Meanwhile, @el_misil13 addressed the critiques with humor and confidence, saying, "Go to sleep, kid."
