The renowned Dominican TikToker, Zabetón (@zabeton), recently went viral with a video discussing findings from a purported study reported by the Hispanic Outlook in Higher Education Magazine. The video highlights which Latin nationalities exhibit the highest educational attainment in the United States.

According to Zabetón, the ranking focuses on the percentage of each Latin community in the U.S. that has achieved a master's degree or doctorate. At the bottom of the list, with less than 20% of their population holding advanced degrees, are El Salvador, Panama, Nicaragua, and the Dominican Republic. Zabetón himself admitted, "I'm one of those," revealing he only possesses a bachelor's degree in Economics.

Moving up slightly, with just over 20%, are Honduras, Venezuela, and Bolivia. In the mid-range, hovering around the average but trending upwards, are Mexico, Brazil, Paraguay, and Peru.

Leading the charge with over 40% of their U.S. populations holding master's or doctoral degrees are Costa Rica, Argentina, and Uruguay. "Kudos to them," Zabetón commented.

The top three spots are held by Colombia, Chile, and unexpectedly, Cuba, which boasts nearly 70% of its U.S. population with advanced degrees. "Congratulations on that. It seems Cubans are eager to earn their education here, whether they stay or return home," Zabetón concluded, inviting viewers to share their thoughts.

The video has ignited discussion and pride across social media, with Cubans and other Latin communities sharing their personal stories about accessing higher education in the United States.

In a related development, Harvard University, one of the world's most esteemed academic institutions, made a significant announcement this week promoting educational access and inclusivity for low-income students in the U.S. Starting in the 2025-2026 academic year, Harvard will offer free tuition for students from households earning $200,000 or less annually.
