On Thursday, a fire broke out in an apartment along Almendares Street in the Plaza de la Revolución district of Havana, prompting the swift response of firefighting units. Images of the incident, showcasing the firefighters' efforts to control the blaze and evacuate residents, were shared on Facebook by user Fernando Gispert.

Fortunately, no injuries have been reported so far. Earlier in the week, on Tuesday night around 11 PM, another fire took place in an apartment at the corner of 11th and L Streets in El Vedado, also part of Plaza de la Revolución. Despite the fierce flames being visible from afar, there were no injuries in that incident either.

Additionally, the Cuban firefighters had to tackle another fire last Friday inside the Amadeo Roldán Theater in Havana, which was apparently sparked by acts of vandalism in El Vedado. These fires are just part of a series of blazes that have erupted in various regions of the country in recent weeks.

Among the most severe was a fire on March 15 in Playa de Cunagua, within the Bolivia municipality of Ciego de Ávila. This fire devastated 20 holiday homes and 189 temporary beach structures, mostly made of highly flammable materials like thatch and wood. Luckily, these buildings were unoccupied at the time. Official sources reported that the fire began from a lit wood stove, which quickly spread to a nearby thatched roof.
