A disagreement over a pair of sneakers escalated into a violent altercation, leading to severe legal charges for a young man in Miami-Dade County, as reported by local law enforcement. According to Local 10 News, 24-year-old Jorge "Zubi" Zubigaray ambushed the victim—a family acquaintance—in a shopping center parking lot in Doral. The attack took place on Thursday night and was captured by surveillance cameras.

Footage reveals Zubigaray arriving in a black Porsche Macan, which belongs to his girlfriend. He confronted the victim, who had been socializing with friends at the Twin Peaks restaurant located at 8700 NW 18 Terrace. The police report indicates that Zubigaray delivered a powerful blow, causing the other young man to hit the ground, seemingly unconscious. He then forcibly removed the victim's shoes before fleeing the scene.

Miami-Dade Fire Rescue teams found the 24-year-old victim suffering from a brain hemorrhage. He was rushed to HCA Florida Kendall Hospital for emergency surgery. Witnesses described Zubigaray as impulsive, and authorities confirmed that his mother was friends with the victim's mother.

Following the investigation, Zubigaray turned himself in to the authorities on Friday with the assistance of a defense attorney. He was booked into the Miami-Dade County detention center around 1:20 p.m. and appeared before a judge the next day. The charges against him include attempted murder and violent robbery. The judge set his bail at $20,000 and ordered him to avoid any contact with the victim.

The arraignment hearing is scheduled for April 28 at 9:00 a.m., presided over by Judge Carlos H. Gamez of the Miami-Dade judicial circuit. Police are seeking assistance from anyone with information about this case or related incidents. They can contact Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-8477.

While authorities haven't officially confirmed his background, social media suggests that Jorge "Zubi" Zubigaray is the son of Jorge Zubigaray and Rosabel González, both of whom have notable ties to the Cuban community in Florida. The couple has shared photos with artists like Alexander Delgado from Gente de Zona and the late urban singer El Taiger.

Last December, Jorge Zubigaray Sr. posted a birthday message for his son on Facebook, using the handle @jorge.zubi, which matches the name provided by authorities, and wished him a happy 24th birthday, aligning with the accused's reported age.

In December 2021, the Zubigaray family made headlines when two thieves broke into Jorge Zubigaray Sr.'s home in Westchester, Miami-Dade County. The burglars managed to steal two luxury cars, both Mercedes Benz, but abandoned them after the owner remotely disabled the vehicles during their escape.
