Cuban influencer Alexander Otaola didn't hold back when addressing the backlash over his eye-catching outfit at the finale of the reality show "La Hora Karaola." He devoted a segment of his program to fiercely respond to those mocking his attire, including singer Eduardo Antonio.
"I see many people of limited means criticizing my outfit. People who will never be able to afford a Valentino hat like that... a meme, really? Who posted that? It's envy turned into a turtle, come on, don't compare me," Otaola declared, as a social media post from El Divo de Placetas mocking his wardrobe was displayed on the screen.
In his trademark bold and unfiltered manner, Otaola defended his fashion choice, highlighting the luxury of each piece from the Italian brand Valentino: "Look at the quality of my outfit, crocodile leather belt, everything Valentino, from head to toe, starting with the glasses."
But his response didn't end there. The influencer took a direct jab at El Divo de Placetas, asserting that Eduardo Antonio isn't in a position to comment on high-end fashion. "Please, of course, they can't know that style because it's priced beyond their reach. Eduardo Antonio shops at the 20 and the 20, that's where he gets all that old raggedy stuff he wears. You're going to tell me he knows what the latest Valentino runway collection style is about. All these clothes are from the latest Valentino collection," he sarcastically remarked.
The host also made it clear that his look was a considered investment exclusively for the musical contest's final event. "Darlings, when you spend what I spent on an outfit for an event, then we'll talk. Until then, you're not on the same level," he asserted.
True to his controversial nature, Otaola once again emphasized that he will not be silenced by criticism, no matter the source. He proudly strutted down the runway at the finale of "La Hora Karaola" dressed head-to-toe in Valentino, unafraid of success.
