Carilda's ode to Fidel turns 50

Cuban poet Carilda Oliver, celebrated in her hometown, tMatanzas, the 50th anniversary of her "Ode to Fidel".
Celebration activities kicked off with the inauguration of a photographic exhibit that features photos taken in 1997, on the occasion of Cuban President Fidel Castro's visit to Carilda in Matanzas on the 40th anniversary of the poem that was referred to by Fidel as "a guerrilla poem that went up the Sierra Maestra Mountains".
The exhibit also includes photos taken by renowned Cuban photographers that reveal f Fidel's continued relationship with Cuban intellectuals.
At the ceremony, Carilda Oliver read the poem aloud for the third time in 50 years.
