Cuba and Russia sign cooperation agreements

Raúl Castro Ruz, first vice president of the Council of State and Ministers of Cuba and Mikhail Efimovich Fradkov, prime minister of the Russian Federation, presided over the signing of agreements between the two countries after finalizing official talks. Both activities took place in the Council of State during the first day of the Russian leaders visit to the island.
Five cooperation agreement were signed: an agreement on restructuring Cubas debt to the Russian Federation, derived from prior credits granted to the island by that nation; a second agreement referring to the granting of a state credit to the Cuban government to fund Russian supplies of goods and services; another one on technical-military cooperation; and two technical- banking ones for the management and implementation of the agreement on the restructuring of the debt and the credit line offered by the Russian Federation.
