Mamediarov, who arrived Thursday in Havana, said they will also sign on the creation of a joint commission for bilateral cooperation.
The Baku foreign minister is expected to meet today with Juan Almeida, vice president of Cuba s Council of State, and Basic Industry Minister Yadira Garcia.
The Azeri official told Prensa Latina that his stay in Havana will allow him to develop bilateral ties and fulfil his government s special interest.
"Friendship between both peoples," said Mamediarov, "goes back a long way, but could be revitalized with exchange in areas like the production of energy, among others."
Cuban Minister for Foreign Investment and Economic Collaboration Marta Lomas was grateful for his visit, and advocated for revitalizing old ties between both countries under new conditions.
