Martinez Enriquez made this statement during an act at the embassy in occasion to celebrate President Fidel Castro s 80th birthday, the 50th anniversary of the Granma Yacht landing and Latin American Medicine Day.
Belizean Foreign Affairs and Trade Minister Eamon Courtenay greeted the top Cuban leader and wished him a prompt recovery.
On behalf of his government, he expressed gratitude to Cuba for supporting Belize development and vowed to maintain brotherhood between the two peoples.
Cuba health professionals have been working in distant villages and communities of this country since 1999, right after the pass of Hurricane Mitch through Central America.
This week, the island s collaborators made clinical visits in poor Belize City neighborhoods, which were dedicated to President Fidel Castro s birthday.
Cuba s cooperation with this country is also extended to other sectors like agriculture, education, trade and culture.
