The relations between Cuba and the Dominican Republic are at their best moment, said Dominican Ambassador to Havana Daniel Guerrero on Friday.
In statements to Prensa Latina, the Dominican ambassador said links are on the increase in the cultural field, in cooperation and collaboration between Cuba and the Dominican Republic.
Guerrero attended a ceremony in memory of Dominican-Cuban independence war military chief Maximo Gomez on the 102nd anniversary of his death, and noted that more than 400 Dominican students are studying several specialities in Cuba.
He highlighted the participation of more than 400 artists, poets and journalists from the Dominican Republic in the Caribbean Festival, to be held July 3 to 9 in Santiago de Cuba, and dedicated to the Dominican Republic.
Maximo Gomez has constituted a link between the Cuban and the Dominican peoples, and was an outstanding element in the Cuban independence war against Spain.
