Cuba and Nicaragua will fortify bilateral relations after the electoral win of Sandinista Daniel Ortega, who will take office on January 10, Cuba's charge d'affaires in Nicaragua announced Tuesday.

Bolsa de Noticias Tabloid published statements by Cuba's chargé d'affaires Manuel Guillot assuring relations in health and education will be increased.

According to the diplomat, the construction of an ophthalmologic hospital and a sports facility for Nicaraguan youth are among the cooperation projects.

Guillot also referred to medical training by Cuban experts as one of the measures to contribute to increasing health levels among the Nicaraguan population.
