Digicel cup

Cuba, currently chasing their first regional title in the Digicel Cup, have retained the No.1 spot in the Caribbean Football Union (CFU) rankings.

In the January FIFA Coca Cola rankings released this week, the Cubans slipped two spots on the world list down to No.48, but they remain clear of their nearest CFU rivals Jamaica, who remained steady at 57th.

The Cubans - No.1 in the CFU for the third month in a row - are contesting the Digicel Caribbean Cup semi-finals this weekend and bid to better the runner-up spot they had to Jamaica last year.

There are several changes to the CFU's Top-10 as a result of adjustments to FIFA's list.

four places up

Eight-time Caribbean Cup champions and 2006 World Cup qualifiers Trinidad and Tobago moved four places up the world list to 87th, translating into a one-place elevation to No.3 in the CFU.

St. Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG) dipped 19 places to 104th on FIFA's list and tumbled four places down the CFU ranking.

Haiti, also Digicel Cup semi-finalists with T&T, Cuba and Guadalupe, were the biggest Caribbean movers on FIFA's list, climbing 10 places to No.92 " pushing them up to fourth in the CFU, from seventh last month.

Barbados, 99th in the world, stayed fifth in the CFU, followed by Guyana (100th), with SVG falling to seventh in the region.
