Cuba to open Museum of miniatures

Cuba will open a museum of miniatures as part of the first hemispheric Festival of Miniatures in May.
The fair will be held in San Juan de los Remedios and Caibarien municipalities, both in Villa Clara Province, Granma International on-line edition informed.
Artists from Mexico, Venezuela, Brazil, Ecuador, Romania and the UK will compete in a contest and an auction.
Among the competitors will be Joan Kelly, president of Australia-based World Federation of Miniaturists.
Passion for this art was introduced in Cuba in the 19th century and current top Cuban representatives are Manuel Millan and Rene Cordero.
