Those actions envisages dredging the most busy routes of vessels and goods, explained Gilberto Ponce Rios, Deputy Minister of the Seaport area.
Although 25 ports are operating in the country, those of Havana, Santiago de Cuba, Cienfuegos, Mariel, Nuevitas and Carupano Port have priority because of their economic-mercantile importance
They will also give priority to the restoration of the so-called Estopa Canal that connects the Isle of Youth with Cienfuegos and Cayo Largo due to its tourist interest and link with the Cuban Island.
Port restoration in the country will mean improving labor conditions, more productivity and shorter stay of ships in ports that will benefit unloading delays.
