Major achievements have been made in the eastern Cuban province of Ciego de Avila, where professionals are being trained to work in the tourist sector.
The province's School of Hotel Management and Tourism has an enrollment of more than 2,600 youths and university professionals, who will work in the tourist sector after graduation.
The largest group of students (644) will graduate from cuisine, bakery, gastronomic services, tourist entertainment, reception and floor management.
Moreover, 100 students will take their degree in Tourism, while more than 400 university gradates will take basic courses, post-graduate training courses and master's degree in Tourist Management.
The training guarantees the upgrading of the staff working in the tourist resort of Jardines del Rey (King's Gardens) during the so-called low season, during which tourist arrivals decrease.
