The performance of Cubas National Ballet has been largely highlighted by the press in Spain, where the Cuban company has made its latest performance during a tour that included Britain and Egypt.
Local papers such as "La Razon" stressed the dancing style of the company headed by Cubas Prima Ballerina Absoluta Alicia Alonso, the Prensa Latina news agency reported.
Spanish critics underscored the outstanding work of principal dancers Viengsay Valdes, Barbara Garcia, Joel Carreno, Hayna Gutierrez and Victor Gili, as well as Yolanda Correa and Javier Torres, whose performances at the Albeniz Theater won the publics ovation.
Likewise the "El Mundo" newspaper said "The Cuban Ballet Company kicked off its season in Madrid with Lake (referring to Swam Lake) once again showing us how it is a classic and the manner to perform it in a unique dancing style forged with respect for models and tireless methodic work."
The Cuban company will also stage one its best pieces, Giselle, a ballet previously performed by Alicia Alonso as she wrote a new chapter in the history of dance.
After its performances in Madrid, the Cuban National Ballet will continue its tour of other Spanish cities until October 8.
