Cuban singer Pablo Milanes awarded

The Gran Teatro de La Habana award was received by the Cuban singer Pablo Milanes, granted to people or groups that have reached an "extraordinary importance," media reported on Tuesday.
Milanes received the award from Alicia Alonso, Cuba National Ballet director and president of the jury, who highlighted "the merits of the singer and his contribution to the Cuban and Latin American singing."
The Gran Teatro of Havana, the most ancient institution in active, delivers the famous award every year.
Among the figures that have received it are Spanish performer Teresa Berganza, the French mime artist Marcel Marceu and the Cuban dancer Carlos Acosta.
