Cultural globalization threatening to kill diversity will take center stage in debates of the International Congress on Culture and Development to be held from June 11 to 14, 2007 in the Cuban capital.
In a planet diminished by globalization, the voices of the excluded begin to be heard. Resistance begins to take shape. The indigenous peoples claim for their rights to preserve their languages and life styles, says website www.cultydes.cult.cu.
The Afro-Descendants claim their identity profile and their place in society. Women and homosexuals fight for the elimination of discriminatory barriers, says the summons of the Congress.
