"I am very happy for closing the year with another record. I hope it can join the Guinness World Records book as that of the one minute did", said the 40-year-old former footballer, after achieving the new record.
The previous mark was set in 2003 by Freddie Adoboe, an American of Ghanaian origin, who juggled the football 149 straight times in 30 seconds.
Hernández owns now eight world records -he has set more than twenty in his career-, although the Guinness World Records has recognized only one, 319 consecutive touches with his head in one minute.
Erick, successor of his brother Douglas -pioneer of the specialty in Cuba- has made exhibitions in Venezuela, Denmark and Norway, and his football juggling records comprise speed and endurance events, because he holds the 100m and marathon records.
