Some 400 professionals from 16 countries are taking part in the conference, which is an initiative implemented by Cuba beginning in 1994.
The women's participation in the creation and implementation of the infrastructure is one of the main topics of discussion for the event, as well as the teaching of architecture and engineering subjects in university courses.
Maricela Sanchez Lorenzo, President of the Organizing Committee told ACN that most delegates come from Latin America, in particular from the Dominican Republic and Mexico, with more than 100 representatives in each group.
The meeting has been organized by the National Union of Architects and Engineers.
