Delegates from 20 countries have confirmed participation in the 12th Congress of the Cuban Nursing Society, scheduled from May 28 to June 1 in Havana.
According to sources from the organizing committee, the event's motto will be "Humanizing in the art of taking care".
Havana's International Conference Center will welcome more than 800 delegates who will learn about the social and humane dimensions of nursing education in Cuba.
In that regard, the experts noted the importance of training nurses to meet the growing demand from Cuba's health sector.
The 1st Cuban Congress of Palliative Care "Cecily Saunders in Memoriam" will be held as a tribute to the eminent British nurse who laid the foundations in 1967 for what it is known today as palliative medicine, which consists of supporting and caring for terminally ill patients.
