The provincial Brigadier General Jose Gomez Cardoso archive and the local Youth Computer Club will exhibit an image bank of 700 contemporary and historic photos, most of which have never before been published.
Coordinator Cabrera Sanchez said the objective is to widen the access to the archive's image bank. The photos, in multimedia format, are divided into three sections: colonial times, the period of US domination and the revolutionary era.
Among the photos thought to be the most interesting are those taken of the Jucaro-Moron barricade during the war of 1895, students and workers demonstrations in the 20th century, daily life shots of the people from Ciego de Avila, and President Fidel Castro on one of his visits to the province.
