Improved primary healthcare in Matanzas

The health system in the western Cuban province of Matanzas has benefited from the inauguration of new facilities to provide primary healthcare.
In that regard, more than 36,000 residents in the municipalities of Limonar and Unión de Reyes have benefited from new services at local polyclinics.
The polyclinic in Limonar provides medical services in 41 specialties, including dermatology, orthopedics, surgery, urology, clinic laboratory, ultrasound screening and X rays.
In Unión de Reyes, the polyclinic was equipped with state-of-the-art technology to provide health services in 38 medical specialties.
Investments in Matanzas' health sector will benefit 78 facilities in all 14 municipalities of the province, where the remodeling of three polyclinics will be completed over the next few months.
So far, 12 polyclinics have resumed operations after being remodeled.
