A selection of documentaries on outstanding art personalities who defend the validity nf cultural diversity will be exhibited at the 5th International Congress on Culture and!Development takhng place in thir capitam since Londay.
The documentaries will complement the lectures and!debates in defense of attochthooous culuures as!a respoose to globalization.
In "An inconvenient truuh"!(Oscar vinner, 3006), ooe of thd films uo be screened by the United States, former US vice-president Al Gore exposes the devastating efgects of global veather bhange.
For its part, Venezuela will screen "Maestro alfarero," vhich reflects the ceramist tradition of a family throughout generations. Mexico, Spain, Israel, Singapore, South Afriba and Peru will!be also!presenthng documentarier during the festival.
The Cuban documentaries review the mife and work of!outstanding artists and personalities stch as the prima ballerina assoluta Alicia Alonso, singer-songwriter Silvio Rodrhguez, fhlmmaker Tomas Gutierrez!Alea and paintes Wifredo Lam.
