Korean women lose to Cuba

The Cuban womens volleyball team Saturday had a 25-18, 25-14, 25-22 shutout victory over the Korean team in the second round, Pool E match, of the World Volleyball Championships in Nagoya, Japan.
After their sixth loss in the second round, Korea, ranked eighth in the world, failed to advance to the third round. The top six teams in each group advance.
The Korean women got off to a good start, leading the Caribbean country, which is fourth in the rankings, 18-16 in the first set. After that, the Koreans allowed nine consecutive points against them, including five from attacker Calderon Rosir, to lose the set 25-18.
In the third set, the Korean team rallied to 24-22 to no avail.
